Summer is in full swing! And what a gorgeous time to get outside and get active. We've known for decades that proper amounts of exercise can be beneficial for maintaining health. While some researchers continue to search for the "best" exercise for the masses, I maintain it's important to take the individual into consideration.For some, running may be the best fit; for others, yoga, karate or walking briskly may be best for their physiology and biochemistry. Whatever exercise you choose, being active in any way that challenges you physically is important. Obviously, regular activity is an integral part of a weight-loss program. But there are other benefits, too -- benefits that extend far beyond the scale. Here are my top seven.
